MIT develops a training program with eight modules. This training intends to better understand the role and function of NGOs and local associations in Germany.
A central element of MIT is the development of a training program for immigrants and refugees who are interested in participating in an association, a committee, a council or in an initiative.
But there are many questions: How does an association work in Germany? What does a local council do and how can one participate? What offices and functions are there in an association or association?
At the same time, people who are new to Germany lack knowledge of how the country works: what does a city administration do, what under the duty of the federal state, and what is decided in Berlin?
The first MIT modules will answer these questions. They explain in a simple and understandable way how the many structures and facilities that exist in Germany work together.
At the same time, people who are new to Germany also have fears of being actively involved. Some third country immigrants come from countries where such participation was not desired. There are fears and reservations and you don’t want to go wrong.
Third-country nationals who are still in the process of being recognized fear that volunteering might also have disadvantages.
Further MIT modules deal intensively with practical work and show how you can participate in a specific club or association. It’s also about networks, social contacts, friendships and the fun of organizing something together with like-minded people in a group. All of this helps new citizens to integrate and participate better.
