Due to the Corona pandemic, the MIT trainings had to be changed from presence to online formats. For the authors of the eight MIT training modules, this meant a change in the didactics and methods of the training planned for MIT.

Although the pure learning content can be conveyed online as in a face-to-face format, the difference to face-to-face courses are the exercises, group discussions, guest speakers, personal discussions and contacts between the participants, which cannot be implemented in the same form online.

Since some of the participants had no experience with online learning via programs such as Zoom, GoToWebinar or Teams, group exercises could not simply be moved to breakout rooms. Also, queries that could be asked directly during face-to-face sessions must be done via chat or hand-holding. For participants with less learning experience, this presents a particular challenge. Depending on the group, contact persons can also be reached during a running MIT training course via WhatsApp and by phone parallel to the Zoom courses in order to get direct personal help if necessary without having to use Zoom functions that are still unknown.

Depending on the regional Corona regulations for the implementation of educational programs for adults in Baden-Württemberg and the municipalities of Filderstadt and Stuttgart, hybrid events are also offered in individual cases, where a small number of participants are present at INTEGRA’s educational center in line with the pandemic and all other participants are connected online.
